We are a husband-and-wife duo living and baking in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Shortbread has followed us through some of our favorite memories, from the ever-present Walker’s Shortbread tin at Grandma’s house to our trip to Scotland, where we got engaged and were informed that shortbread is the perfect remedy for an evening of too much celebrating.
As avid readers and occasionally verbose storytellers, we started Long Story Short with the belief that good food — much like a good book — takes you on a journey, sometimes to unexpected places. Dessert should be no different. Our shortbread is a twist on the traditional recipe, with playful toppings that add a few layers of depth, making them difficult to put down.
